I devoured Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma. I'm so happy I read this now and not a few months ago. I don't think I was ready to read it. If I had read it earlier last year, I think I would have had a different outlook and rating. I can understand why some may not have liked it so much, but it didn't ruin it for me. Kidan is very hard to like. She's rough around the edges and reacts before she thinks. Which got her caught up A LOT of the times. There were a few times I had to remind myself that this is YA (even though a lot of what was happening didn't seem very YA). 
I liked a lot of the characters. Taj was my favorite. He was witty and made me laugh. I liked the mystery, suspense, and action. The writing was done very well, especially with the action parts. The description of the characters was Chef's kiss!🤌🏾 everyone was beautiful and gorgeous. I just need to see more fan art! 😍 I want to see it come to life.
When I got to the 50% mark, I could not put it down, and I had to finish it. I stayed up until 2 in the morning. I want to say so much, but I don't want to spoil it. The twist in the plot was good, and I'm excited to read the second book. I have a few theories as to what may happen next.
