This is the weakest book in the series. The characters, when mentioned in the other books, seem interesting enough but as mains, they are irritating and thin.
These books are escapist lit and that is great. They do it well. Until these two. Every word and action from him is grating and feels more offensive to a modern woman than something anyone would swoon over, especially, what is supposed to be an independent, alternative young woman.  She has the weak humor of a middle aged mom who reads her daughter's diary to stay hip. Her spine gets so little use it has withered to ash. These two wouldn't get along. I cannot suspend my disbelief that much.
The secondary plot lines are also an afterthought, tacked on for good measure, just like this portion of the review.
