Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within
by Natalie Goldberg
This book is such a great resource for anyone trying to write themselves, or someone who is looking to lead a group of people writing together. I appreciate the author making the chapters short, and can be read in any order; if I feel stuck in my writing, I can open to any chapter and receive new information or suggestions for breaking through. I also appreciate this author giving so much of herself to her subject; we find out she is Jewish, Buddhist, lives in Minnesota, lives in New Mexico, and likes to hold un-lit cigarettes for inspiration. Even though I read it through completely this time, in future I plan on referring to it randomly when I need an extra push. There is a reason this book became a classic! I would recommend this title to anyone who is interested in writing in any field.
