I’m so sad because i was really looking forward to this! I really enjoyed Spells for Forgetting and while this had the same slow pacing, the characters weren’t nearly as likable. The twist was very predictable and there were a lot of side plots that didn’t flesh out (the owls???). Giving 1.5 stars for small town setting and the “past” storyline which was definitely the most interesting part of the book. I’m sorry, I tried! I probably should have just DNF’d
