A beautiful epistolary style story of a young woman and her friends during WWI. I was very hopeful in my predictions throughout the book, but was never quite sure how the characters were going to get there. The letters seemed very realistic in starting out more formal, in expressing their thoughts and feeling towards the war, and in the ebb and flow of the frequency of letters sent. I definitely cried during this beautiful world created by Gaynor and Webb. It made me want to start writing letters to my friends, and I just might do so.
