Undead King is my first foray into the world of Light Novels. There were parts of this novel that were truly engaging and interesting and parts that get like pulling teeth. Whenever the author got to into the stats and mechanics of the game world my eyes glazed over. 

I understand this is a 16 volume series and a lot of this first volume necessitates world building. I will give volume 2 a shot as the premise of this series is so unique but the writing feels really rough at times.
