Cassandra in Reverse by Holly Smale
4.0

I saw this book posted on a Popsugar FB group. I was intrigued by how many positive comments it had and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the book and am glad I gave it a chance.

Cassandra is on the spectrum and likes things to follow a pattern. When a particular day goes all wrong she discovers that she can reset time and try again. The book wasn't a page turner but I am glad I stuck with it.

There were unexpected surprises along the way and I learned to care about Cassandra and many of the secondary characters as well. It took time. I had to be patient as the story unfolded because many times I felt frustrated with Cassandra and her reactions.

I read how the author put so many of her own experiences into the book and it helped me gain empathy and insight into those who are on the spectrum. Yay for books that have this great superpower to immerse the reader into these kinds of teaching moments.

I sure wish I had the power to go back in time and try and fix my own mistakes. There are many!
