Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family
by Robert Kolker
The premise of this book was very interesting, in a family of 12 kids, 6 are diagnosed with schizophrenia, and they end up helping contribute to the research of modern day treatment.
However the book is written in a way that made the source material difficult to separate from the author’s point of view. Opinions of people are stated as fact and not necessarily notes as “Mary recalled in our interviews”….basically bias is difficult to identify.
It’s also a very dark and sad book, as you might imagine. Not sure I’d recommend this book to someone else.
