What a stunning continuation to the Guardians of The Realm series. In this 4th installment readers will finally have their appetite fulfilled with Conn’s story. Believe me, it was so worth the wait!
I must admit I was rather partial to Conn from the start. Ever since we were introduced to him in book 1, I was hooked. Who could resist his cookie-eating, flannel-wearing, bad-boy self.
What is so interesting about Conn’s story is the different approach to him concurring his mate in comparisons to all his predecessors. Instead of your typical dominate male, who just takes what he wants, we meet a much more passive and patient Conn. Although just as naughty as his fellow Guardians, after discovering Dacia, Conn lets his mate come to him when she is ready, instead of just taking.
I found the suspense and sexual tension between Dacia and Conn stretched taut, but so needed for the development of their characters. Conn’s compassionate and traditional approach to love is unexpected and endearing. Never fear, however, the author keeps her readers appeased with some rather steamy interludes before Dacia finally gives into the all-consuming matting frenzy.
If you are new to Setta’s books, you will not be disappointed. I found it best to read everything in order. There are a lot of underlying details that readers will find important later.
Keep in mind that some situations in this book, and in the previous books, may be a little extreme. It is best to keep an open mind, and let yourself indulge in the creative world of the Guardians of the Realm.
