I have already read this book bavk in 2023, when it was very viral on booktok, I decided to do a reread.

If you LOVE fantasy, enemies to lovers with actual YEARNING, a good slow burn, and with a political background twist, then this book is for you. I absolutely loved reading about Jude and her being in faerie, as we see Jude (the female main character) is a mortal in the land of faerie where the fae, are immortal, they can’t lie, and many more advantages/disadvantages they have over mortals. Jude, and her 2 sisters are taken randomly by a man on a normal day into the land of faerie and we see other fae tormenting particularly Jude and her sister for being mortal. Cardan (the male main character) is the prince of faerie and we see him and his friends torture Jude in different situations.

Holly black honestly did NOT hold back— the political background was very well written and I was very much interested in it. The way Jude slowly got herself into power in the high court was very pleasing, the banter between her and cardan was also to die for!! I agree there were a few moments where I cringed like take for example, when I came to know that cardan
has a TAIL.
I was shocked to say the very least.

The ending was also well written and I enjoyed reading this book overall!! I would recommend this one to anyone who loves reading fantasy books with a good romance trope, with slow burn in it.
