Rereading EJD now that I’m an adult and understand the life of a grown woman. EJD is amazing at writing from a Black woman perspective that I don’t think many (or any) male authors can accomplish. It takes place in the 90’s but this story  still resonates to how woman build new relations today. Looking forward to rediscovering his work.
