Edge of Temptation
by Megan Crane
I was curious about Gunnar and Maud, you get to read a bit of them in Tyr's book so I was excited for this book for months. I'm glad it didn't disappoint. I liked Gunnar in this one, although he wasn't very likable in the first book. In the first book he came off as a little unstable but in this one, we got to see that he's a highly intelligent, sadistic dominant grieving for a mate who manipulated his insecurities around being the king's older brother. Maud was the perfect mate for him. I'm glad that although these two books toe the line with some kidnapping and captivity, the way this world is set up makes the captives have a lot of choices - therefore there were no moments where I felt like Maud was suffering from Stockholm's syndrome. If anything she found herself shackled to a beautiful, complex stranger mourning the death of his wife and who gave her some kick ass orgasms. I liked the ending - read it twice and was glad to read more about Wulf, whom I love. My favorite character in all of these books has been Wulf so I pray this series continues so that I read more about him. There's a hint for the next book's storyline but I haven't seen any announcements for the next book yet. I want another book in this series, if the author keeps up the quality of storytelling and writing.
Get this book if post apocalyptic, BDSM lite, erotic thriller is your thing.
