If It's Meant to Be by Lily Seabrooke

This book is a very earnest sapphic romance with a lot of buildout of an all queer friend group. I like almost all of that--but the earnestness really got me. I know this is a me issue! I have liked Lily Seabrooke's other books that i read and i liked this one okay--not enough that i would go back if it were her first i had read, but enough that i will keep reading her books!

I love a romance with some snark and cynicism to balance it out and this does not have that. But what it DOES have is really good external relationships for people to talk things out in, a queer filled small town that you want to know more about, career crises and growth, family dynamics that include queerness and alienation in a way that feels really believable, and main characters who are magnetically attracted to each other.

It's non-holiday Hallmark style, if it took place in a VERY sapphic town.

This was an ARC but you can read it soon yourself!
