The story deals with domestic abuse and it does a pretty good job.
The book itself was readable, although not without it's flaws. Male side characters are either an abuser or a silly guy. While the mmc was too perfect, fmc was annoying to the point I skipped her chapters. I guess it represented her unhealthy abuse cycle with her parents, but her whining got on my nerves, as well as no real exploration of her status apart from connecting it to Daniel and his rural town.
While sweet and romantic, depicted communication between two mc were times childish and not great, aka "when you love someone nothing else matters!" and "I will not let you go, this is a sign from God, God doesn't wnat you to go". That's just romcom nonsense that builds love bombing and helps abusers get their next partners.
