Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
Did not finish book.
I abandoned this book after about 50 pages. I just couldn't get into it. The style was messy.
I watched the movie. It was sad. Sad in the way that my stomach and intestines became one as I scrounched up on my couch trying to get through it without ugly crying. I now understand why reading the book felt messy. The book was written to convey the boy's struggle with coping with his father's death and the frightening day of September 11.
I am still not in a place where I can watch footage from that day, nor can I speak of that day without an emotional surge.
