The Eighth House: Hades & Persephone by Eris Adderly

2.0

Interesting and sexy read but fell a little short in a few places for me. I’m really not all that surprised, based on the summary, that this book ended up focusing so strongly on the sexual aspect of Hades’ and Persephone’s relationship, but I still looked forward to and expected more world-building and storytelling, as the Greek mythology aspect of this book is what drew me. In the end I think I ended up being most disappointed by the reasoning/motive behind the whole conflict. Aphrodite used her one favor with Hades to get him to marry Persephone...because it was a matchmaking conspiracy between her and Hekate? And then the reason she specifically chose Persephone of all the immortals was because she was the only one freaky enough to accept how kinky Hades is in bed? Meh.
