Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 1 by Kamome Shirahama
4.0

TW: bullying by peers, implied classism. Both are minor and are not portrayed as a good thing.

More manga? This was a free offer on iBooks. I'm not really sure how I feel about manga and graphic books as e-books. It is nice because you can embiggen the detail. But the small screen makes it harder to appreciate the entire page. Sort of like not seeing the trees for the forest. I will look for the next columns in my local independent bookstore. I am glad that iBooks introduced me to the series.

I loved the first volume.. The magic system it very cool. The mysterious witch who is giving away forbidden books keeps you turning pages. The art is amazing. The characters are interesting and even secondary characters are given their own personalities.

A side note. I interpreted some facial expressions as being enraged. The context was obviously the person is overjoyed. Is this me not being able to read expressions or are Japanese expressions a little different than what this insulated rabbit has been socially conditioned to?
