I'm a little conflicted about this book - it is the only entry in the series so far that is novel length (though a short novel!) but I can't tell if the increased length was a good thing or not. I actually bought a copy for myself instead of waiting for it to be free at the library but I am a bit puzzled by the pricing of this series - £14.99 for a not particularly long paperback seems a bit steep for me!
In this book there is more space for Murderbot to interact with the characters which I very much enjoyed - the reappearance of ART was appreciated! - but the plot was slower and it was veeery exposition heavy in places. I did like how the alien tech stuff that started the plot in book one was actually elaborated on a bit in this book and the climax of the book was enjoyably creepy!
Moderate: Body horror and Violence
