This isn't a typical contemporary romance. This a book with romance as a thread throughout but is more about two people whose paths cross when they can. Nina LaCour has some of the most beautiful writing on these pages and I loved seeing these two women go through hardship and have wins on their own and seeing each other in between. They don't exist to fix each other - that work is done themselves and I think that's such a breath of fresh air in so many formulaic love stories. This is something that can be read all at once but the structure feels like you're picking up little pieces of the story here and there and it all comes together. I love this book.
