in a shocking fashion, i actually like this book quite a lot. I think the characters are likeable and intriguing and the plot moved fairly quickly. it seems to be setting up a world for a fantastic series, but could also function well as a standalone. the characters were extremely strong which is refreshing, and i am actually excited to continue this series, although i will be waiting for the release of the new covers. excited to see where this series goes.
