The pairing of career and personal waypoints with those encountered along a long trail works beautifully in theory, but not in practice. Much like Sam himself at the beginning of his journey, the telling struggles with pacing and organization. Listening to the audio was lovely, but it emphasized the disjointed nature. That said, I would happily have read just of his time on the trail itself. Reflections on the areas and the struggles brought me back to my own limited time on the WHW and emphasized my need to get back and do the whole thing.
