Well.. this took a nose dive for me at the end and I'm very sad about it. Until about 70% of the way into the book I was enjoying mostly everything about it. The Carlos/Akila banter. The interactions with Akila and her friends. And the premise of the Carlos and Akila working together to provide both sides of the dating perspective in the city. It was all fun to read about and entertaining.

And then... Carlos ruined it. His actions were unforgivable to me... or if you wanted me to believe even for a second that my strong willed babe of a FMC would forgive him at any point in time, he needed to do more than just QUIT the show. City Boy and by proxy Country Boy are the worst of the worst of the male species and the simple fact of the matter that it took someone verbally threatening to RAPE Akila from a caller on the podcast and then for City Boy to try to explain that that's not what the called meant before Carlos was like "OH sorry, fuck you guys this isn't cool. I quit" IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS. Akila deserves better than Carlos' wishy washy ass of defending that show and that its all a joke and that "his boys" would never. ALSO the simple fact the City Boy released that news letter at all (it doesn't matter if the main image was Akila's sister or not, he's straight trash) doesn't deserve to be at all ok'ed by Carlos. Fuck you Carlos. I loved you but your doubling down on the shitty things that men do to objectify women and that its not a big deal ruined you.

There was no resolution with the Date Night podcast boys and then the whole job thing didn't really flush itself out in the end. I feel like the end could of done something different to save the story for me but ultimately it felt like a mess thrown together for Akila to forgive Carlos and for everyone to live happily ever after. That's it. I'm just... sad/mad.
