Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
by Robin Wall Kimmerer
What an exceptionally powerful book. This book was food for my soul, nourishing and sustaining. It was also, in turn, incredibly sad - the loss of so much beauty, understanding, meaning is starkly evident in the disconnect between people and the land.
I learned, I laughed, I cried, I wished, I hoped, I despaired, I regret, I believed.
The prose is beautiful, the lessons profound and as applicable today as when it was written, and I am humbled by the experience that this book provided for me.
