Sing Me to Sleep
by Gabi Burton
I truly don't understand why this book gets so much hate because I thought it was incredible. Was it brutal? Yes! Was the main character unlikeable at times? Yes, but I think that's what made me love it. Saoirse was a force to be reckoned with! She was strong and fierce and never once wavered in her beliefs. She fought with every toom and nail this entire book, and I honestly think she's one of my most amazing main characters I've ever read. This book felt more real. Honest. Are people mad that she's morally gray? Is it because she's a woman? So many beloved male characters are killers, but they're praised for their resiliency and brutality! I am disappointed that more people don't see the amazing story here. The incredible cast of characters! An entire black cast! If you didn't like this book, I'm convinced you didn't read it. Not every book is for everyone and I get it, but I fiercely believe that you're missing out with this one. It was so powerful!
