Thin Air
by Richard K. Morgan
What a stupendous find. Gritty sci-fi noir. This novel does both the parent genres a generous service. At multiple times throughout the novel in one chapter alone I would catch myself grimacing from a graphic death, re-reading a piece of poetry and/or catching a genuine bit of sentiment or sadness in an otherwise macabre moment.
There is admittedly some ignorable tech mumbo jumbo to ignore for even hardiest of Sci-fi fans but overall I cannot recall the last time I was jerked in so many directions in one book but still came out loving the experience and wishing the book was 100 pages longer.
