A Restless Truth by Freya Marske
3.0

There were moments that I really enjoyed this book, but overall I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe it was the fact that the entire story happened in one location, unlike the first book, but it just felt like things weren’t really happening; like the book could’ve been half as long and just as interesting. There were some interesting moments that were important for advancing the overarching plot of the series, but the plot of the book itself didn’t really capture my attention. As in the first book, I found there were critical points in the story that needed careful detail and description, but the author didn’t seem to be as attuned to the reader’s needs as I would’ve wanted, which made certain core scenes somewhat confusing. All in all, it advances the overall plot of the series, but the book itself was just okay for me.
