Wholesome, healing, and comforting found family vibes. It's quietness reminded me of the perks of being a wild flower.

Their relationship is genuinely cute and tender. I was rooting for them so much throughout their struggle. However at the end it felt like the story was dragging too much which would have been okay if the story dealt with their character arc instead of the classic dramatic tropes that feel very YA.

A book being YA isn't the issue, the issue is that the targeted readers got misled. This book is clearly YA but the characters are 'new adults' which is the demographic I read since I'm in the age range. I get bored without the lack of depth and nuance. The book has a lot more 'depth' than avg YA but it's inconsistent, and the plot loses its track between drama and emotional growth which was pretty disappointing since the books had a lot of potential. This would be a classic hit for the YA audience, so I recommend it for them.

I will try this author's other books in the future. Let's see how that pans out.
