This is straight up sci-fi, which is a genre near and dear to me. I was hoping for a second-chance romance in there, but there was no romance, at all, which made me sad. We do get a single kiss, at the very end, but that's it. The writing was good, as always, but I did skim a few chapters when things were too slow going.
