I love it when an arc comes out but when an ALC comes out at the same time, itโs even more special. Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet narrated both Asher and Maeve above and beyond. I love to listen to audiobooks during my overnight shifts and this book captured me into this lovely world.
This is probably one of my favorite best friends to lovers romances that Iโve read in a long time. I only wanted more from these two. The closeness between these two was amazing. The fact that she wanted to protect him and her brother helped her in the auction made me so happy because Asher has been in love with Maeve for a long time.
The smut was out of this world. So spicy. Lauren knows how to make the spice absolutely worth it. One of my favorite scenes was when she walked in on him in the shower that led to the bedroom scene. What a whirlwind right there.
This book had the perfect mix of swooning with a bit of mental health in it. I love that Asher realized that he needed help because he was borderline protective of his fatherโs health along with Maeve. He just wanted everyone to be okay, which was super sweet.
I loved that Maeve got her break in her career. For a moment there, I was terrified that it wouldnโt work out, but it did.
The way they professed their love for one another was just so sweet! I loved that the two of them had a second wedding where their close friends and family were able to come. I loved the found family in this book.
I cannot wait for the next book and I hope that itโs Miles and Leightonโs book because that book is going to be so worth it.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
