Never Too Far by Abbi Glines
4.0
h: Blaire
H: Rush
(Dual POVs)
Note to self: don’t start a book at midnight cause you will be up WAY past your bedtime, unable to put the book down because you are so invested in the characters. This book packed such a punch of emotions, it hit me straight in the heart.
For more than half the book, I was obsessed with these two. Rush seemed to be distraught over what happened in Fallen Too Far and was desperate to repair things with Blaire. His desperation, vulnerability, and him baring his heart made me fall for him.
Towards the end of the book, I felt that there had been quite a bit of repetitiveness of Rush hurting Blaire, Rush would apologize and swear he’d never hurt her again, and then five minutes later he’d be doing something else that hurt her. It didn’t really bother me until the last time Rush hurts Blaire’s feelings. At this point, it made me mad the way he treated her, especially because of the condition she was in, but it didn’t seem to bother her. She actually spins it to where she blames things on herself and feels sympathy for Rush. Don’t get me wrong, I felt bad for Rush and the things that were sprung on him, but his actions weren’t matching his words to Blaire.
Favorite Quotes:
”I will do anything. Anything, Blaire, just to be near you. I can’t think about anything else. I can’t focus on anything. -Rush
I might not trust him with my heart but I really wanted to trust him with my body. -Blaire
