Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

3.0

I have always loved the shadowhunter world, but this one didn't do it for me. I don't care if Emma and Jules get together or not and I don't care about the love triangle between other characters. I wish the book focused more on Emma's training and missions and what makes her her, but I feel like we got a watered down version. Like we were told how hard she trains not shown.

On the other hand, I absolutely love Jules. He is exceptional. His love for his family, the sacrifices he's willing to make, the burdens he holds. The author really showed us his character time and time again. He's interesting and dynamic and I'm excited to see what he does just.

Some parts of the book I was very immersed in, and as always I do like her writing style and world, as well as forming an attachment to her characters. I will be continuing the story for sure, just not immediately.
