I have such mixed feelings about this! Similar to Addie LaRue, it was a very slow-paced, character-driven story. While I liked that book, I felt this one wasn't quite as good. It started out interesting, but all anyone seemed to do was murder people, which quickly became repetitive. The three POVs felt disjointed, and it took a while for them to come together. It didn't help that the only character I liked was Charlotte, whose chapters didn't start until later in the book. Honestly, the best part of this book was Schwab's beautiful writing. Though the constant use of parentheses annoyed me, and the flashbacks in Alice's chapters always pulled me out of the story. The ending was also a bit underwhelming. Overall, I think the essence of the story was there, but the execution could have been better.
Graphic: Death, Toxic relationship, Blood
Moderate: Sexism, Sexual content
Minor: Animal death, Homophobia, Suicide, War
