Wonderful insight into Eastern European cuisine as a whole.
Without having access to the regional produce, it's obviously hard for me to follow the recipes absolutely 100%, but after reading I still feel confident I can manage, and that deserves praise.
I feared that this book would focus a lot of meat-centric dishes, but was positively surprised that I was mistaken.
The beautiful pictures and fables of the author's youth really paint a wonderful landscape, too.
