The Lying Life of Adults by Elena Ferrante

3.0

A very compelling first half. The mystery behind the adults' feud is interesting and draws me in. The book fizzles out somewhere in the second half when it begins to focus less on the adults and more on the protagonist's peers. The ending feels somewhat uninspired. I do appreciate the way the book illustrates how the parents' flaws negatively influence the upbringing of a child, causing her to act in insufferably cringe-inducing ways.
