What an incredible debut novel! I am so excited to see what Lisa Martin comes out with next.
I was hooked from the beginning with this book, the twists and turns are incredible. I can imagine the ending isn’t going to be everyone’s taste but I think it worked well.
The atmosphere and tension is built up so well and really keeps you on high alert, for me it kept me changing my guesses about the ending every couple of chapters.
It has a similar vibe to gone girl, but I enjoyed this so so so much more!
I also enjoyed that the ending was left with this air of slight paranormal activity with the new owners saying that while the bodies had carbon monoxide poising the tests on the house didn’t show it. But my heart aches for the little girl Beth and for Emily. I need an Emily in my life.
