The Rose and the Thorn
by Michael J. Sullivan
The beginning was a little slow, as it spent more time with Reuben than Hadrian and Royce. I do understand why but I don't care about Reuben. I'm here for Hadrian and Royce. I also do wish this had started immediately after the first book; I would have liked to see Hadrian and Royce's friendship grow, as well as Royce and Gwen's relationship, but that probably would have made for a more slow read with mostly just relationship stuff and not much else, so again, I understand why. Overall, still really enjoyed this book. Riyria books are becoming comfort reads to me, honestly. I've yet to not enjoy one.
