Aftertaste
by Daria Lavelle
Since he was a child, Kostya has been able to taste death. Well, not really death, but the meal that the dead wants him to taste. One night he decides to finally make what the spirit is letting him taste, and it changes everything. Once he realizes he can reunite people with their dead ones that have passed on, Kostya has a mission to help people move on from their losses.
This book was so unique and I enjoyed it so much! It went in a direction I did not expect, but it worked for sure. As you all know, I have had a lot of loss this year, and I think with each person I have lost, I can think of the meal that would bring them back to me in this situation. It was kind of fun to think about that while reading, but brought its own grief as well. I loved the behind the scenes of the restaurant world, and the ghost aspect added the extra oomph that made this book even more special!
