Overview of my thoughts: I so badly wanted to love this book but between the slow (and I mean *really* slow) plot and the dull characters...I ended up feeling like finishing this book was more of a chore than an actual, "I really want to read this book."

Plot: THE PLOT WAS SO DEAD-

The amount of brain cells I think got killed off just for me to get through the book was a lot. While I'm not saying I hated the plot--I think it had a very good concept--I think it was just too drawn out. It was very slow-moving, which seems to be a common theme in the YA Greek mythology books I've read.

But, I will say, I loved the last 20%. That's where all of the action happened, where all of the good parts came. Honestly, 5/5 star ending-

Characters: Dull characters. Yes, Althea had such good character growth, but she felt too...unrealistic most of the time. Her motives were very obvious and good on her for sticking to them, but at the same time, I know I wouldn't do half the stuff she did. She's a strong character but lacked the traits to make the reader like her.

Theo was...mid. Very much gave off Tobias from Divergent.

My favorite character had to be Bronte, honestly, I loved her :)

Romance: It's like a love-triangle but no one wants to admit it's a love triangle. Althea has chemistry with both Theo AND Zeus, but if we're to follow the original mythology, she should end up with Zeus in the next book. But Zeus is engaged to someone else??

IDK, ask me next book how I feel about it-

Age Rating: 14-15+

Overall: I'm gonna give the second book a chance, but if I end up not liking that one either, probably never going to ever want to think about this book again 👍
