Our History Is the Future: Standing Rock Versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Indigenous Resistance by Nick Estes

5.0

One of my personal favorites! The history recounted in this book is telling not only of Estes' passion but also the rich tradition of Native American oral history passed down by generations, intersecting with many topics, not limited to: Climate change, the Israel-Palestine conflict, the #BlackLivesMatter movement, feminism and decolonization. For that reason alone I would recommend it to anyone. As for my personal interest in decolonization, this book was perfect to introduce many perspectives on top of previous writings, and introduced me to many scholars and activists engaged in a similar conversation.
