Monster High: I Only Have Eye for You: An Original Graphic Novel by Kellee Riley, Heather Nuhfer

4.0

This collection of short stories that builds up to the ending was a cute and quick read.

It's greatest strength is by far the illustrations. I have been utterly obsessed with the Momster High style of illustration since the first images of the doll boxes appeared online, and it was those drawings that initially got me to start collecting the dolls. It's vibrant, crisp, and so, so detailed, particularly by comic/graphic novel standards (at least in my experience).

I loved that it allowed us to spend time with lesser known characters (especially Iris, who has been my favourite "background" character since she appeared in the background of the first webisode in ~2010) while building on the main ensemble we all know and love (particularly Cleo). I wish Ghoulia and Slo Mo could have been included with their own arc, but that's just me being biased because I love Ghoulia.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other MH graphic novels if they maintain this standard.
