I read this out of curiosity, knowing I would not like it. I was correct. It’s cheesey, poorly written, and quite toxic and ill-informed. Myers’s depiction of mental illness and suicidal ideation is quite insensitive, but makes sense as it was written in early 2000’s. The book was quite trope filled.
There were parts of the book I enjoyed. Some well written scenes, some compelling ideas. In general, I think Meyer had a creative idea; a modern day vampire in love with the person he wants to kill most; unfortunately it was horribly, horribly executed.

Graphic: Misogyny, Toxic relationship, Stalking, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Car accident
Minor: Animal death and Blood
