The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
5.0
This is a science fiction book dating back to England, 1895. That alone makes it worth checking out. Interestingly, this was the first book that explored the possibility of time travel in a _man-made_ machine. Add to it a true Victorian-era literary style and the fact that it is an absolute delight to read, and you have a book you really shouldn't miss.
This is one of the great, albeit maybe rare pieces of old(er) science fiction that doesn't age. It isn't chock-full of technology that may seem sensible at the time of writing, but looks ridiculous just a few years down the line, so there's nothing distracting you from the story.
I was more than pleasantly surprised and recommend this to everybody; fans of sci-fi and laymen alike.
