Part of a larger series and kind of really needed to read the first series before this one. Things are not elaborated on because the Author assumes you’ve read the first series. Did NOT like the ties with the modern world… the main chapter says “mofo” and reference pop songs and modern technology but the world still feels like it uses torches and oil lamps. It really threw me off and made it hard to read.
