Wow! Wonderful writing of a story that unfolds like a night blooming primrose, fast enough that you can see it but slowly enough to keep you holding your breath waiting for that blossom to finish popping open in all its glory. Multi-faceted characters that continue to surprise. A vexing mystery that strings you along in multiple ways and shows you that even if you figured it out you haven't really figured it out.
All the things we enjoy about regency romance but with lions and tigers and bears. But the world is built slowly as the story unfolds and the supernatural elements only alluded to, escaping in slowly increasing drips until the climactic torrential downpour.
Sizzlingly graphic sex that is only enough to enhance the story rather than being the story, written in such a way as to have you holding your breath hoping they will close that last inch of distance and get busy all ready!
Yeah, I really enjoyed this and I'm going to dive right into the second one. I have a feeling I'll be wishing the third was already out by the time I finish it.
Regency Paranormal Romance like it should be done.
