Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland
5.0
Y’all -
“If I weren’t your professor and you weren’t a nice girl, your re-virginized p**sy would be sore as hell right now.”
Is it hot in here or what?!?!
I picked up this book when I got email from the author that it was on sale. I’ve been a fan since I read my first Keeland and Ward collaboration. I’m a KU user and I don’t have a very large book budget so I rarely purchase full priced books. This one is not on Kindle Unlimited so I thought I may not get to read it. But the minute I saw the sale and found that it was a teacher/student story there was no stopping me.
I loved it. Big on sexy, light on taboo, and strong on story. There were flashbacks and I don’t love flashbacks, but there weren’t too many. I love the way it all came together. And I adore our MCs. They’re both flawed, but incredibly caring and their chemistry is off the charts. The fact that it was about music therapy classes was even better.
I also loved that there wasn’t a lot of extraneous description and additional characters. There were a few additional people that added to the story, but it was clearly about Caine and Rachel. I’m sad to admit that was incredibly refreshing after recent full length reads. It truly was very well written and incredibly interesting.
There is something I always forget to remember about Vi Keeling and/or Penelope Ward books, they have a clear Christian influence. I’m not against that, but it’s noticeable when at the climax of every story there’s a faith based reason everything is okay. It’s enjoyable on occasion, but I can’t binge them. I’m not a huge faith based fiction fan. However, it’s important to note that if you enjoy Christian influenced smut, you’ll love this author. I completely understand why she’s so popular.
Overall, I highly recommend this book. It was a very enjoyable read that I had a very difficult time putting down for bed. Even though I had to put it down, I couldn’t wait to pick it back up!
