Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

4.0

I was stuck between giving this 3 stars and 4 stars. So maybe I should’ve stuck with 3.5. It really wasn’t that bad; I think I remember the original series as being MUCH worse when I originally read them (fourteen or so years ago? Give or take a few?)

Edward’s perspective is interesting because he can give insight to other character’s thoughts, that you otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

I found, however, that what I REALLY wanted was to read more about the things that never really get explained.

I also felt that Charlie’s character was severely underutilized by Stephanie Meyer. I felt this way several times while reading. That there were interesting little tidbits sprinkled throughout her writing that would have been so perfect to expound upon.

But anyways, it wasn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I’ve certainly read worse (UGH).

And even if Eddy boy was very cringey for the most part, it certainly makes you like Bella a whole lot more, seeing her through his eyes. And Alice. And Emmett. And of course, Charlie. So for that, I can’t complain too much.
