I think this book really struggles with pacing and voice. It’s not really horror, it’s not really a mystery. When Beth takes over Cassie’s mind, it’s so anticlimactic. Cassie doesn’t even question what’s going on (absurd). Nothing really happens until the very end and then the pace is sooo fast for like 20 pages. I didn’t hate it because it’s short enough that I got through it quickly, but it didn’t do a whole lot for me either.
