My mom read this book to me as a kid, and as a flighty and imaginative (and somewhat out of control) child I always saw a lot of myself in Anne. Reading this felt like a warm hug.
4 stars because, though I don’t want to wholly project 2022 values onto a book written in the early 20th century, there was a lot of focus on physical appearance and TW for fatphobia.
