The Plant-Based Athlete: The Game-Changing Secret Revolutionizing How the World's Top Competitors Perform by Robert Cheeke, Matt Frazier

3.0

I was expecting something more detailed for existing plant based athletes but this is more like The Game Changers, trying to convince people that a plant based diet is possible for any athlete. Not a lot here for those who are already plant based and especially not for anyone who's done a bit of research into this subject.
I do like the anecdotal stories but they aren't really helpful. Neither were the extensive amount of quotes very useful.
The part I did like was the sample food and workout plans from a large amount of the athletes featured in the book, I found this the most useful information in the book. It gave me a really good idea of just what was eaten for fueling a workout. They were from a wide variety of sports so you could see what someone doing your preferred sport professionally is eating and when.
The recipes were mediocre, or I guess maybe just not any different than the plant based recipes you can get anywhere, including the internet.
