I loved reading Lakshmi’s story! She was a fascinating, well-developed character who both inspired me with her courage and determination. Lakshmi went through so much throughout the story,
and I’m glad that she finally found a family and place that made her happy by the end of the story.
My only complaint is that I wish more of the story was told from Radha’s perspective. I liked the prologue at the beginning from Radha’s point of view, and I would have liked to come back to her voice later in the story. Radha played a central role in the story, but I didn’t feel like I fully understood her or her motivations. I loved reading from Lakshmi’s point of view, but for a novel about sisterhood, it was missing some of Radha’s voice!
